Imani Clarke

Imani Clarke leads talent at Northwood, helping portfolio companies hire the people they need in their first few years. Most of her time goes on senior searches: first sales leaders, heads of engineering and finance, and the occasional chief executive.

Imani led recruiting at a New York software company through three years of fast growth, then ran her own search practice before joining the firm in 2021. She works on a small number of searches at a time and stays close to each one, from writing the role with the founder through to reference calls. She also keeps a shared pool of candidates across the portfolio, so a strong finalist for one company is often hired by another.

She sits on the board of a youth basketball league in Brooklyn and coaches an under-12 team on Saturdays.
