Theo Marchetti

Founding Partner, New York

Theo Marchetti co-founded Northwood and opened the New York office in 2014, two years after the firm started in London. He invests in developer tools, security and the infrastructure underneath modern software.

Theo spent a decade writing and then managing code at a cloud hosting company in Boston, ending up responsible for a team of sixty engineers. He tends to judge infrastructure companies by their documentation and their first ten customers rather than their pitch deck, and he will often ask to sit in on a support call before a partner meeting. He led the seed rounds in Gatehouse and Corvid, both since acquired, and is on the board of Stackwell.

Theo keeps a plot at a community garden in Queens and grows more tomatoes than his family can eat.
