Clara Novak

Partner, Stockholm

Clara Novak leads Northwood’s climate investments from Stockholm, where she opened the office in 2016. Her focus is the physical side of decarbonisation: storage, materials and the verification work that makes carbon markets credible.

She spent eight years at a Nordic utility, the last four running grid storage projects from procurement through to commissioning. That work left her with a healthy respect for permitting timelines and a habit of asking founders how a product gets built at the tenth site, not the first. Clara led the seed round in Tidewater, which listed in 2024, and works with Kiln and Albedo today.

At weekends she is usually somewhere in the Stockholm archipelago with a small sailing boat that needs more repairs than it gets.
