Albedo: Carbon removal, verified from orbit

Active

Albedo measures and verifies carbon removal projects using satellite imagery. Its models track biomass on reforestation sites, soil carbon on regenerative farms and the progress of rock weathering on cropland, producing monitoring reports that buyers and registries can audit, at a fraction of the cost of sending teams into the field.

Buyers of carbon removal had been telling us for years that they could not be sure what they were paying for. Inês worked on Earth observation at a European space research institute, and Tomás built remote sensing tools for agricultural insurers. We led Albedo’s Series A in 2026, and Clara joined the board.

Albedo now monitors more than 1.2 million hectares across 18 countries, and its reports are accepted by three of the largest carbon removal registries.
