Nadia Mensah

Founding Partner, London

Nadia Mensah co-founded Northwood in 2012 with Theo Marchetti and led it for its first ten years, handing the managing partner role to Grant Holloway in 2022. She sits on the investment committee for every fund and still leads a handful of seed and Series A rounds herself, mostly in financial software.

Before Northwood, Nadia co-founded Ledgerline, a payments company she ran for six years and sold in 2011. That experience shapes how she backs founders: she asks early about the dull parts of the business, such as reconciliation, compliance and month-end close, because that is where finance products tend to win or stall. She led the firm’s first investment in Arbor, acquired in 2019, and more recently Payfield.

Outside the office she sings in a community choir in south London and has been learning the cello, slowly, for four years.
